RE: To Where have smbpassd's contents moved?

I believe you are looking for /var/lib/samba/secrets.tdb ?

Subject: To Where have smbpassd's contents moved?

I have a new Etch box, and have installed Samba.

I'm wanting to move existing samba passwords from a Solaris box to it, but I can not find where the passwords should be stored.
I thought it was /etc/smbpasswd in older versions, and /etc/samba/passwd in newer versions (which agrees with "man smbpasswd"), but my /etc/samba/passwd file is empty.

So as a test run, I changed my own samba password to see if that had any effect on "/etc/samba/passwd", but nope, that file did not change, yet I now have to use the new password to smbmount a share on that box. So obviously the samba password changed, but the file referenced by the man page did not.

Any clues?

Thanks!
