video card: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon R250 [Mobility FireGL 9000] (rev 02)

The machine is an IBM Thinkpad T41.
Another problem: last night it locked up when I tried to put it to
sleep, although it had previously (but since the upgrade) gone through
a sleep-wake cycle successfully. I don't know if this is related to
the VT problem (I expect not).
