My understanding is that it was Etch that received security support once
it was settling down prior to being released so that more people would
be comfortable testing it prior to being released as stable.  I don't
think (somone PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong) that the testing branch
moving forward suddenly came under the security team's unbrella.
