Yes it does play the shows available on 'Listen Again'.  I've just been
listening to 'Pathaan's Musical
Rickshaw' (http://www.bbc.co.uk/asiannetwork/pathaansmusicalrickshaw/)
via listen again on my laptop running AMD64 Debian.  MPlayer has never
had any issues with anything I've thrown at it.  You'll need the binary
codecs pack from the MPlayer site to play some proprietary formats
though for example, Realvideo.
