RE: No network with Xen kernel

I didn't really get to play with 'xen' yet, since I have no network.

So to answer your question, it's at the level I get on the console when I boot the box.

this is apparently a known issue:

http://www.felix-schwarz.name/Linux_on_Dell_E521_(en)

"Update 11/28 15:09: The b44 chipset is not able to handle 31 bit
DMA addresses so can only use memory below 1GB. XEN currently has no
mechanism to restrict the dma memory given to the b44 to that region.
Source: Xen users mailinglist."

Anyone knows a workaround? It seems it might've been fixed in xen 3.0.4

you didn't answer my questions. WHERE? in the Xen Dom0 or DomU? If its
not visible in Dom0 that is a completely different problem than
whether it shows up or not in DomU.  How about peth0? does that show
up in Dom0?

how about the output of ifconfig from Dom0? same with /etc/fstab.
