Subject: Assistance with installing Bind9

Sir/Madam,

I'm in the process of building a machine to run as a DNS server. I have problem when trying to install BIND9 onto the machine. According to some tips I have, I should be able to achieve this by performing;

            apt-get install bind9

I've tried that but it gives me the following error messages;

            dns2:/var/lib# apt-get install bind9

            Reading Package Lists... Done

            Building Dependency Tree... Done

            W: Couldn't stat source package list http://security.debian.org sarge/updates/main Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/security.debian.org)

            W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems

            E: Couldn't find package bind9

            dns2:/var/lib#

Following the hint given, I performed this command;

            apt-get update

Now it gives me the following messages;

            Err http://www.voyage.hk ./ Packages

              Could not connect to www.voyage.hk:80 (221.127.128.128), connection timed out

This is what I have in my file;

            deb ftp://ftp.hk.debian.org/debian/ sarge main

            deb http://security.debian.org/ sarge/updates main

            deb http://www.voyage.hk/dists/0.2 ./

I would be really grateful if you could help me solve this issue.
