Depending on your tolerance for a little breakage and the occasional
temporarily uninstallable package, you might want to think about
jumping up to Sid/unstable.

Lots of us run Sid, so you won't be alone.  Obviously, though, if
you use the computer for Something Important, you'd probably want to
stick with the plan that others have suggested.
