No problem; I just wanted to make sure whether there was the possibility
of typos creeping in.

The libc6-* versions are OK for a current Etch. Maybe aptitude remembers
something stupid it wanted to do earlier. I recommend to run

aptitude keep-all

to make it forget all previously scheduled actions.

Then run

aptitude install -fsD

to see if it is now happy with the system as it is. Once we achieve that
we can try once more what happens if you try to install new packages,
but first the present state has to be consistent.
