Ah, but by doing that you absolve yourself of any control over them.
No social security, no minimum wage, no public schools, no FDA, no
DEA.
Neither "left" nor "right" have any desire to allow people to get an
education and improve their lives, that's why both "left" and "right"
always talk about providing that education and improvement _for_
others supposedly "less fortunate".
By doing things _for_ people, you control them. That is the lesson of
social programs that enshrine the very things they are proported to
fight, and of the political flappers (such as Grima Wormtongue)
who "help" their leaders and thereby control them.
