All the time "we" (i.e., us, through the government) tell people what they can and can not do with their own bodies.

For example, the members of the NYC Board of Health who in December voted to not let us eat transfats in restaurants are probably all pro-abortion.

Why is it that many people believe that all women are pro abortion?  I happen to be married to a woman who would not have anything to do with abortion under any circumstances, even if her life were in peril.  At its very best, abortion is a tragedy, a waste, and a yet another way to cheapen human life and diminish us all.  And guess what, the government tells everyone what they can and can't do with their bodies every day.
 
As for trans fats, it seems that its not a giant deal to replace them with oils that are better for people.  I understand the reason they were used in the first place was to make various kinds of foods easier to mass produce.  Why not use a little skill and make foods that taste the same and are healthier.  kind of a freebee in my book
