I'm running popularity-contest, which seems to be the most efficient
polling method of finding out what packages people actually use.

Jigdo has never worked for me.

What has worked was ftp (slowly) or bittorrent. The first CD really is
all anyone needs unless they are not going to have the machine
connected to the net. I use the bootable business card, but it has
little or no wireless network built in if you need that.

The DVD, CD and even the bootable business card versions are usually
available through Mininova,
http://www.mininova.org/search/?search=debian

...and the Debian site itself of course,
http://www.debian.org/CD/torrent-cd/

Jigdo seems like a good idea, but with bittorrent it is already
obsolete.
