Okay, after reading that topic again (I was tired last night so I didn't pick it up) I don't think they're having the same trouble as me. I'm actually crashing when I log out, what's happening to them is the logout button is appearing, they're pressing the button, and nothing is happening.
I'm thinking I need to reinstall X and GNOME, since it seems to be problems with both of them (X is being dumb, and logging out works in KDE).
What packages would I have to reinstall to do this? I want to *completely* remove and then install both systems. Reinstalling isn't a viable option, because I've done so much work to get this install working how I like. I'd kill if I ended up having to reinstall.
