Why not have one install pointing at testing, and one pointing at Etch,
that way you won't need to change your '/etc/apt/sources.list'. You will
soon notice when testing gets the name Lenny.

Don't forget to check that your /etc/apt/sources.lst entries point to 
etch and not testing, otherwise you may end up with a broken system once
etch goes stable.
