You can break it into individual sentences and say it's not rude, but 
the overall effect was one of rudeness and it was quite, as you say, 
snide.

Definitely agree with that.

Personally, I'm fine with letting teens on MySpace and similar 
wastelands.  Let them have places like that so they're busy enough to 
not care about the rest of the net.
