Don't do this.  Leave the defaults alone and just use sudo instead, you're
less likely to gun down your feet this way.  The only time you should even
consider logging in as root is when you have no other method (ie, system
recovery, /etc/nologin got touched, things that would make root your only
option, and even then, only long enough to clear the immediate problem,
then it's time to log out and log back in as your normal user.
