You can also install the dmidecode package and do something like this as
root:

# dmidecode |grep 'Installed Size' |grep MB

Which gives me:

        Installed Size: 256 MB (Single-bank Connection)
        Installed Size: 256 MB (Single-bank Connection)
        Installed Size: 512 MB (Double-bank Connection)
