If you have a CD burner and can access the Internet, simply download the
CD ISO image for the GRUB boot CD. Use Google to search for the image,
or go to the GRUB web site.

Once you have burned the ISO image to CD, go to the machine you wish to
boot, set the BIOS to boot from CD, insert the CD, and press the RESET
button.

The fact that you already have LILO installed as a boot manager on the
machine doesn't matter.

If you read the GRUB manual, you can learn how to use GRUB to explore
your drives and find and boot any of the operating systems you have
installed. GRUB can boot anything.

You can boot from the GRUB CD, or you can use the GRUB CD to install
GRUB as a replacement for LILO. GRUB is really nice and easy to
install, configure, and use.

One of the first things you may wish to do after you install GRUB is to
go to the configuration file, which is '/boot/grub/menu.lst' and place a
'#' at the beginning of the line which reads 'timeout 5'. This
comments-out the timeout parameter, so that GRUB waits until you make a
selection; otherwise, GRUB automatically boots the default selection
once the timeout expires. Or you may wish to increase the timeout
parameter from 5 (seconds) to 15 or so; 5 seconds is a little short.
