Could be several things.  Have you tried just creating ~/.kde?  It seems
that totem believes it's in a KDE environment and is wrong.

Also, do a

	find ~ -name "*mcop*" -exec ls {}  \;

and see if there might be an mcop file owned by (for instance) root that
totem running as you is unable to delete or overwrite.
