[SOLVED] Re: Marvel Sata Controller: how drivers work?

Install mvsata driver onto debian sarge with kernel 2.6 series, suppose you
have `Linux 2.6.8-3-686-smp'.

apt-get install kernel-source-2.6.8 kernel-headers-2.6.8-3-686-smp
cd /usr/src
tar -xjf kernel-source-2.6.8.tar.bz2
ln -s kernel-source-2.6.8 linux-2.6
cd linux-2.6
cp /boot/config-2.6.8-3-686-smp .config
(or your config file)
make oldconfig
make prepare-all
wget -P /tmp ftp://ftp.abit.com.tw/pub/download/drivers/linux/marvell/mvsata340.zip
(or supply mvsata340.zip)
unzip -d marvel /tmp/mvsata340.zip
cd marvel/LinuxIAL/
sh build.sh
insmod mv_sata.ko
