Re: Debian on new Macs with Intel CPU?

Apple has released a tool called Bootcamp, that allowes you to install
WindowsXP (heaven knows why they had to go do that)

I'd say :
- they are hardware makers, so if they can sell shiny trendy computers
to the mass market they played a very good card. i think Windows'
still the most used OS worldwide, and users don't like change.
Standard consumers like shiny blinking, "user-friendly" colorful
things (ie windows), and they like nicely shaped, good designed things
(ie apple's stuff). So this provides apple with more cash and more
"survival" chance for them. At what cost ? some people think : "apple
is tricking us, it's flirting with the devil ! Shoo !". Bleh, osx
still runs kind of a linux, doesn't it ?
- i'll never, _never_, NEVER be able to have only linux install on any
computer i own, as long as most of the games are only
windows-friendly. Even if i don't play much anymore, all the games i'd
like to play are windows only.
- i'll never have the opportunity to have linux install at work,
because more than 90% of the business apps run on windows.

My thought is, the right step apple could do is to make at last a
version of its osx that would run on x86 without needing some hacking.
I know, same point as above for gaming and business (although a less
stronger point here), but it would certainly give cut in the market
shares of microsoft, os-wise.
