i set up a new acc't and got the following trying to run gaim:

   Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
   Xlib: No protocol specified
   (gaim:7377): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_display_get_name: assertion \
      `GDK_IS_DISPLAY (display)' failed
   ** (gaim:7377): WARNING **: cannot open display: unset


the appl' never started.
