This issue will be fixed after todays dinstall run.
This log is from #debian-release from today:
10:29 * zobel grumbls about "xserver-xorg-core conflicts with server-xorg-video" in etch today.
...
10:31 < chealer9> zobel: what's the problem?
10:33 < aba> zobel: eh, dak ls claims there is no xserver-xorg-video ...
10:34 < aba> zobel: can you please provide the correct error message?
10:35 < zobel> aba: it was provided by xserver-xorg-video-*
10:36 < zobel> i.e. xserver-xorg-video-nv
10:36 < aba> zobel: ah, and it is no longer provided?
10:38 < chealer9> X11R7.1 drivers provide xserver-xorg-video-1.0 instead
10:39 < zobel> so which package provides xserver-xorg-video-vesa now?
10:40 < chealer9> zobel: provides? xserver-xorg-video-vesa is a package.
10:40 < chealer9> a "real" package
10:40 < zobel> which would get deinstalled if i press go now in aptitude.
10:41 < chealer9> aptitude? what's that? :-P
10:41 < chealer9> funny, I was pointed to aptitude when I complained about the upgrade on #debian earlier
...
10:52 < chealer9> it's true though that even apt-get was behaving weird on this upgrade. it was removing installed drivers and installing all non-installed ones.
11:07 -!- chealer9 [~chealer@ip216-239-86-64.vif.net] has quit [Quit: Konversation terminated!]
11:20 < aba> the packages still provide xserver-xorg-video. that is bad ...
11:22 < vorlon> er... which ones do?
11:26 < vorlon> ah, xserver-xorg-video-voodoo
11:27 * vorlon goes a-fixin'
11:32 < vorlon> oh, that's easy
11:32 < vorlon> aj: committing rerun, please
11:32 < vorlon> -voodoo just needed an urgent hint
Greetings
Martin
