Re: installing mysql and php
Please also be aware that there is hardly ever a reason to compile from
source, when using Debian.
What you *should* do is (as root):
apt-get update
apt-cache search <some thing>
apt-get install <packagename>
Finally: RPM's are for Red Hat installations (or RedHat-based/inspired).
Installing an rpm on a Debian machine is a no-no as it can mess up the
system in a bad way.
