I'm running unstable and had pan 0.113-1 running for a bit, then reverted to pan 0.14.2.91-5.
The more recent beta builds (they release weekly snapshots on pan2.rebelbase.com) may work better for you. They are not that difficult to build on etch.
The lack of decent filtering in pan really put me off. Regards, Arthur.
