Re: Using wine w/ Lotus Notes

Hi!

}}Why are you using wine to run Lotus notes? Lotus notes 7 is available for Linux...

Well, Lotus Notes 7 for linux....waw, if you have 'bout  300 MB Ram free (Websphere core!!) ...
Lotus Notes  7 for  Linux is not  so light, and it has not Admin and Developing tool. Only Client.
I'm a Domino/Notes developer, and i can tell you that:
time ago i've installed LotusNotes 6.5 on Linux with no problem with wine - the only one problem was that the server console  make wine crash.

If you need to run only the Client (you are unable to run properly Lotus Notes because of missing .dll):
  1. You need to run the basic installation on a Windows computer (Single-User installation)
  2. Do not take any further action after the installation!
  3. Copy the complete installation folder to your Linux machine.
  4. Copy these DLL files to the windows-directory of your fake Windows installation:
    mfc42.dll
    mfc42u.dll
    msvcp60.dll
    msvcrt.dll
  5. Proceed with the basic Notes configuration on your Linux machine by just running wine nlnotes.exe
Hope it helps you!
