Actually, [x]emacs (and vim) and gcc and gdb and ctags and make can
be made into a semi-IDE.

(I wouldn't be surprised if you could plug cvs and/or svn into the
mix, also.)

Is "common sense" really valid?
For example, it is "common sense" to white-power racists that
whites are superior to blacks, and that those with brown skins
are mud people.
However, that "common sense" is obviously wrong.
