Hi Alex, 
ok. so you have 640x480 working?
send us your /etc/X11/XFree86-4 file. I susect that you need to setup
your mouse as /dev/psaux. use 'dpkg-reconfigure -plow xserver-xfree86'
try selecting 'ati' or 'vesa' and '/dev/psaux' for the mouse.
