It seems that there are several packages that should provide
the virtual package gcc-docs, but only gcc-2.95-doc is so flagged.

My understanding is that gcc-doc is supposed to depend on the default
version, so that when the default changes you get an update
automatically.  In sid, the dependency is on a non-existent package
(except for i386-hurd).  The bug report number is 384809.

In sarge, it should be picking up gcc-3.3-doc, according to
http://packages.debian.org/stable/devel/gcc-doc .
