im trying to run flv video ( debian unstable).

i have installed the essential codecs from mplayer and im able to run
wmv9 videos.

'mplayer' itself is able to play these.

i have installed mplayer from : http://www.debian-multimedia.org sid/main Packages

debian:/home/mha13/Desktop# apt-cache policy mplayer
mplayer:
 Installed: 1:1.0-pre8-0.1
 Candidate: 1:1.0-pre8-0.1
 Version table:
*** 1:1.0-pre8-0.1 0
       500 http://www.debian-multimedia.org sid/main Packages
       100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
    1:1.0-pre8-0.0 0
       500 http://www.debian-multimedia.org testing/main Packages

but when i try to open flv videos i get :
when opening using open with :
Error opening/initlizing the selected video_output(-vo) device.
and if i open from the command line :

[flv @ 0xa7580d10]Unsupported video codec (4)
and lots more of this same error.

[mpeg4 @ 0xa7e5cd48]header damaged 0.000 960/960 0% 0% 1.8% 0 0

Error while decoding frame!
while giving the above error it will play only the sound.

i have tried also :
Vlc,Xine & Gxine , Totem.

i have non-free flash package.

You do not need this to play the files.

is there a way to play flv from inside FireFox ?
