I'm seeing something odd with sendmail and I'm curious to know if it's
a bug or not. Here's a log snippet:
Jun 12 14:00:04 apprelay1 sm-mta[6948]: k5CJ01tP006692: SYSERR(root):
readqf: cannot open ./dfk5CJ01tP006692: No such file or directory
and when I search the mqueue directory I find this:
root@apprelay1:/var/spool/mqueue# ls -al ??k5CJ01tP006692
-rw-r----- 1 root smmsp 3488 2006-06-12 14:00 Dfk5CJ01tP006692
Putting 2 and 2 together, it appears that sendmail can't find the data
part due to capitalization on the filename since it's looking for a
lower case d.
I have a few of these occurances maybe 3-4 times a day every few days
for the past few months. I see no specific pattern though. I just
hadn't noticed it until someone showed me an empty email the other day.
Any ideas? I am running the latest and greatest sendmail package from
debian sarge/stable 3.1... (8.13.4-3sarge1)
Thanks,
Stephen
