Um, Thomas, I've been reporting bugs for something like ten years.

But I've given up, because they never get fixed (see VLC for an example)
until the developer happens to feel like it, or just never.

And the xorg thing is not going to be be fixed, because it's an effect of
upgrading, which the developers don't care about, because by the time Etch
is actually released, the upgrade process will be different, anyway. So
reporting it would be pointless. Like the fact that xdm and gdm stopped
working with the upgrade. (Luckily it only took an hour of fiddling for me
to make startx work.)

Note: the above "never get fixed" slam is not meant for all you
conscientious people who fix everything instantly. It's the curse of how
the human mind works that you aren't noticed, because you don't annoy me.

And "random news groups"? This is a totally non-random mailing list devoted
to Debian, and many developers do read it.

And it's "newsgroups". No space.

Since you brought it up.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to my actual question, or should I take
it up with the GNOME developers? Or even violate what I just wrote and file
a Debian bug and let the Debian developers take it up with the GNOME
developers?
