Does the Preload Essential Modules from Floppy option still exist in Debian Sarge 3.1r1 installer?

Hi, in my continued venture to get my embedded HP NetRAID controller to work with Debian I came upon this article: http://www.togaware.com/linux/survivor/Load_RAID.shtml which references there being in what seems was the woody installer a option to Preload Essential Modules from Floppy which would really make recognizing my HP NetRAID controller possible, however I don't recall seeing this option in the Debian Sarge 3.1r1 installer, is it still there and if so how do I get to it and utilize it? Also if it's still around how would I go about loading the megraid module (e.g., where should I get it from, the knoppix live cd? should it be in a specific directory structure on the floppy?)? And finally, would loading this module mean the RAID would only be availible before the installer restarts the computer at which point there'd be a kernel panic because the driver's no longer loaded (as referenced in the end of the article I posted a link to in this posting) and if so is there a way to keep this from happening? Thanks alot! :-)
