Streaming video
Hello. I use Debian Sarge, with a high speed adsl connection. In
trying to view the site http://www.cpac.ca/asx/cpac2e.asx, and/or any
"asx" site, using either Mozilla or Firefox, I was unable to with
mozilla-plugin-vlc. I then tried mozilla-mplayer 2.70-1, and I have
been able to view video from this site. However, the size of the video
remains small. How do I enable full-screen?
This is an issue with mplayer, with all video (even downloaded video
files). With mozilla-plugin-vlc, I had the option to display most
direct video downloads in fullscreen mode. I do not have this option
with mplayer (or, if I do have this option, I've yet to discover how to
utilize this option with mplayer). This is a disadvantage with mplayer,
but, I've only been able to get mplayer to play asx sites. So, right
now my choices are: be able to view everything really small, or not be
able to view everything, but that which I can view, I have the
fullscreen option. Note, I do have w32codecs installed.
Totem-xine (as opposed to Firefox) will play the stream
http://www.cpac.ca/asx/cpac2e.asx, but it is very blurry. If there is a
way to fix this, then that would solve my problem. Trying to open the
site http://www.cpac.ca/asx/cpac2e.asx via the program mplayer does not
work -- which is strange, since the mplayer plugin is what does open it
via Firefox. I cannot open it via wxvlc. It reads "no suitable access
module ..." as its "main error".
Anyway, all help appreciated. Thanks.
