The XL line is different from the regular SmartUPS line, so we'd need
SmartUPS XL data points to be sure.  I trust you don't mean failure of the
unit's first battery set, however.

If a vendor doesn't sell spare batteries nor tells you where to get them
(they often are sealed car or motorbike batteries), I'd stay the hell away
from them.  That means they sell disposable trash IMO.

Very good, if they deserve the name.  A data-center UPS system includes a
fuel-based power generator, no matter how small or big the data-center.
