I'm a linux newbie but if you havn't fixed this issue yet, install
libsdl1.2debian-all
Fixed some issues I had with the game frozen-bubble in Ubuntu Breezy.
No sound and the sound box can't be ticked. Starting it in a terminal
shows it cannot find a sound device, but restarting it in the terminal
again shows /dev/sequencer missing but the sound then works fine...
After installing this the sound just works (even though /dev/sequencer
is still not found the sound inits)
