Hi, I've downloaded Samba as a .deb file. Is there an easy way for me to install from that?
dpkg -i <package> should work. Check the dpkg man pages for exact syntax. RobP.S. How come you didn't bring it in through apt-get or synaptic or aptitude (just curious!)
