Or in the .ssh/config file. Here I have:

KeepAlive no
ServerAliveInterval 300
ServerAliveCountMax 9999

(IIRC, I had set KeepAlive to 'no' to avoid a deconnection when the
network is temporarily down, e.g. during an ADSL reconnection, but
it no longer seems to exist.)
