I started from the  symbols/pc/es layout and made my modifications.

* how does xkbprint(1) represent your current/effective xkb setup?
  (this generates a PostScript diagram)

  xkbprint /etc/X11/xkb/symbols/pc/dvorak-plus
Error:            Couldn't read geometry from XKM file "/etc/X11/xkb/symbols/pc/dvorak-plus"

Help me in this part, i want the same geometry as in pc/es.

I have been making the layout by hand with gimp XD... sig

* are you using KDE or Gnome?

Gnome... sig. I will try it in twm an say to you.

  AFAIK, they add another level of obfusca^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hconfiguration
  on top of the conventional methods of keyboard setup...
  (meaning someone else would have to help you with this)

 Just help me with conventional.

...another thing I just realised is that you often omitted the comma
between symbol groups.  For example, I think the above definition
(which I copied from your dvorak-plus) would have to read

   key <AE01> {        [           1,  EuroSign        ],
                       [         bar,  cent            ]       };

Yes that was a bad version commas are ok now, now i have made some of the changes you recomend, the problem is that now appear the altgr symbols of pc/latin, not the ones that i have defined. That happens if i write the file this way:

key <AE01> {        [             1,  EuroSign     ],
                                  [         bar,  cent              ]       };

But If I choose this way:

  key <AE01> {        [           1,  EuroSign,   bar,  cent            ]       };

Alternative continues with the problem. I think one file is interfering with the other, what should I do?

Should I make something in xkb/rules/xfree86 or other files of xkb?

I have spended a lot of time with this because i love dvorak but none of the avaible layouts take cosideration of spanish writing and others, so I am making ok for us. And the layuot is more similar to today layouts plus more thnigs. I will make a web and updates too. I would like to get it included the new layout in linux distros... Old dvorak layout is deprecated ...
