To find out, do "man iptables".

Be sure to do "iptables -nvL" as root. It will show you what you were
looking for ;)

thanks, so now that I have rules in place for a firewall and NAT.
my questions is wheather those rules do serve well in my setup to brows the net from my win2000 box connected to the switch.
