Re: [hdd problem] Strange errors

Hi,

I've got a big problem concerning my second hard drive. Sometimes, let's say
once a week, my Linux unmount an hdb partition with this message:

================================

	EXT3-fs error (device hdb5): ext3_journal_start_sb: Detected aborted journal
	Remounting filesystem read-only
	journal commit I/O error
	__journal_remove_journal_head: freeing b_frozen_data
	__journal_remove_journal_head: freeing b_committed_data

fsck.ext3 can fix the problem, but it writes many errors like this one:

end_request: I/O error, dev hdb, sector 22558875
hdb: dma_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hdb: dma_intr: error=0x40 { UncorrectableError }, LBAsect=21791542, sector=21791483

end_request: I/O error, dev hdb, sector 21791483

I've read it's a DMA problem. Here's my hdd params:

This automatic read-only remount is quite annoying. What can I do?

What does smartctl say?
