And do not forget to make sure that you have your namesevers in the 
file /etc/resolv.conf the file looks like this.

>$ cat /etc/resolv.conf
nameserver 24.222.0.66
nameserver 24.222.0.91

You would of course change the numbers to those provided by your ISP or 
if you have a nameserver running its IP address.
