The wipe.sf.net file wiping tool's man page says the filesystem should be mounted with the mand option for mandatory file locking. I notice that this is not a default in any Gnu/Linux installation I've ever used. I also can't find much documentation about it. Are there any harmful side effects or is it safe to put in all my /etc/fstab entries for hard drive partitions? Thanks.
