It was indeed very helpful ;)

It refers to creating a .mailcap file in your home directory:
text/html;                      links %s; nametemplate=%s.html
text/html;                      links -dump %s; nametemplate=%s.html; copiousoutput 

substitute your favourite browser for 'links'

It also tells you to add:
auto_view text/html
to your .muttrc file
I did this but found it tried to read all text/html messages in firefox.
I disabled this and I get the behaviour I want.

For messages that have an html attachment, pressing 'v' Enter launches
firefox.
