apt-get remove clamav.. does remove clamav but there is about another 20 files refering lying around.

Kindly please is there a way to remove/uninstall software and remove it totally.

I use:

aptitude purge package

I guess:

apt-get purge package
Just a little bit difference though.

apt-get --purge remove package

This would remove even the configuration files associated with the package.
