I think so :)
Check your /etc/lilo.conf to boot your new kernel.
boot=/dev/hda ??? your MBR
image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.4.27-2-686
# or without the /boot if a link is set in /
label=Deb-2.4.27
root=/dev/hdc1 # your /
initrd=/boot/initrd.img-2.4.27-2-686
append="hdx=ide-scsi" # change the x to yours
read-only
