Ghost windows on my graphic display
Hi to all,
I have a small problem with my display under Debian (woody). My X server is
4.1, but as I installed from vanilla I am still running on a 2.2 kernel.
The computer is an old laptop with a trident 9385 chipset (2mb of ram).
Everything goes fine except when I open some applications such as oowriter,
galeon or showimg. When I do manipulation with one of these programs, some
small ghost windows appears in the middle of the application. Actually, 3
to 4 little screenshots of my desktop are displayed in blue, pink and green
pixels. Kind of "resonance" with distortion. Someone knows what might be
the problem. Is it bad refresh rate, physical limitation from the card,
need to upgrade kernel to 2.4 etc...
I would really appreciate any guess. Thanks in advance. olivier henley
