Hi Eric,

Yes, x-ttcidfont-conf is installed.  I originally used xtt as a backend.
I ran "dpkg-reconfigure x-ttcidfont-conf" and chose freetype this time.

During the reconfigure, it said to make sure two font paths were in my
XF86Config (they were) but also said to make sure the font paths were
mentioned in /etc/X11/fs/config and /etc/X11/fs-xtt/config.

However, the two files /etc/X11/fs/config and /etc/X11/fs-xtt/config appear
to be missing.  Are they present on your system?
