I actually think that you can, but you'd have to use lean graphic
applications.
Well, Linux used to be useable on a 486DX33 that I had with 8MB of RAM
(well, there's quite an amount of bloat in current applications -- part of
the reason why I like Dan Bernstein's approach to Unix).
