Broadband doesn't do fax.  At least, not in the way you're probably
expecting if you've used a fax modem before.  It just so happens that
fax machines and modems share a few underlying similarities, so they
make fax modems that do both.  That lucky coincidence doesn't apply
with broadband, though, which is much newer technology than faxes.

You can use a email-to-fax gateway for this, and I think some are
available as Free Software, but I'm not sure if Debian has any in
official packages.
