Re: Debian loads too many modules at boot

hey all,
I love it when experts give vague answers.
http://lkml.org/lkml/2005/1/6/45

Apparently, from what I read, this is an issue with the newer kernels.
It's some debugging "feature" that they have implemented for some
reason or another. I believe this was an issue in the 2.6.8 kernel
but not on debian's version from source. I know that this issue is
present in the 2.6.11 version on both debian and the main kernel.

So I'm thinking the kernel needs these modules, so if you don't want
to see the error messages, just compile them into the kernel, not as
modules. In my uninformed opinion, this is kinda a cop out, but I
don't pretend to understand all the work that goes on behind these
kernels, and I'm sure they are doing their best. So I can live with
those annoying messages.
